TIME has gone today...

The TIME initiative will not be on the ballot come November:

TIME transportation initiative off the ballot

The Arizona Secretary of State's Office today disqualified the tax package from the November ballot, ruling that supporters of the measure failed to submit enough valid signatures.

The TIME coalition of business and political leaders, which counted Gov. Janet Napolitano among its backers, had submitted nearly 261,000 signatures to the state last month. But more than 42 percent of them were ruled invalid, based on checks by the Secretary of State's Office and counties, leaving the measure nearly 15,000 short of the 153,365 it needed.
